The Impact of Technology on English Language Learning
Abstract
Technology has changed so many things, and one of them is the development of English language teaching and learning, making it more accessible to all through customized learning, which could provide better focus, also making classes more engaging with gamified applications, virtual reality, or multimedia resources. All of this is designed to enhance the use of self-paced, collaborative and authentic contexts in learning to improve proficiency immersion in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Limitations include lack of access to technology, insufficient teacher training, technical failure and poor infrastructure development. Overcoming all these barriers requires an approach of continuous professional development of teachers, institutional support and pedagogical balance between digital and traditional techniques. Adequate policies would mean investment into efficient digital resources while establishing a cooperative linkage among stakeholders for inclusive effective learning environments. It is evident that strategy in training is required to maximize technology use through equal access while also promoting adaptive teaching strategies. There is a need to consider careful implementation and modernize education smoothly so as to maximize the advantages of technological use and to reduce the disadvantages.
