Artificial Intelligence Adoption in Human Resource Management and Employee Performance
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a transformative technology that is reshaping Human Resource Management (HRM) by enhancing organisational efficiency, improving decision-making, and strengthening employee performance. AI-enabled HR systems such as intelligent recruitment, predictive analytics, automated performance appraisal, personalised training, workforce planning, employee engagement platforms, and decision-support systems have significantly changed traditional HR practices. The present study examines the influence of Artificial Intelligence adoption in Human Resource Management on employee performance across selected organisations. The study adopts a quantitative research approach using a structured questionnaire administered to 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Primary data were collected from employees and HR professionals working in organisations implementing AI-based HR practices. Descriptive and inferential statistical techniques, including frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, Cronbach's Alpha, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test, Bartlett's Test of Sphericity, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Pearson Correlation, Multiple Regression Analysis, Independent Sample t-test, One-Way ANOVA, Chi-Square test, and Weighted Mean Ranking, were employed using SPSS to analyse the collected data.
The findings indicate that Artificial Intelligence adoption has a significant positive effect on employee productivity, employee satisfaction, organisational decision-making, and overall employee performance. AI-enabled recruitment, performance management, training and development, and decision-support systems emerged as the strongest contributors to workforce effectiveness. Reliability and validity analyses confirmed the robustness of the research instrument, while regression analysis demonstrated that AI adoption explains a substantial proportion of variation in employee performance. The study concludes that successful AI implementation requires not only technological investment but also employee training, ethical governance, organisational readiness, and continuous digital capability development. The findings contribute to the growing literature on AI-enabled Human Resource Management and provide practical recommendations for organisations seeking to enhance employee performance through responsible AI adoption. Recent literature similarly reports positive effects of AI-enabled HRM on organisational effectiveness while emphasising the importance of governance, transparency, and employee trust.
